Rascal, European Kestrel

Rascal is a young European Kestrel born in 2014. He’s a bit larger than an American Kestrel but just as friendly as his buddy, Roscoe.

The European Kestrel is commonly found in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Kestrels are one of the UK’s most common birds of prey and are often seen hovering beside motorways in their hunt for small rodents.

Rascal is a very laid back young male who, unlike most small falcons, actually enjoys having his chested scratched! Though he is a youngster in training, he has made marvelous progress and is already jumping for his food after only a couple of days.
